Jesus Christ is the Son of God who was born into a human body so that He could die to pay the penalty for all that that we have done wrong (our sin) on our behalf.  He was raised from the dead and we can know him personally and through him we can enjoy a relationship with God as sons of a loving heavenly Father.

Jesus's death was necessary because of our sin (pushing God out of the centre of our lives) which has cut us off from a holy God and resulted in our flawed human condition with all its weakness, failure, faults, fears, and needs.

Have you personally put your trust in Jesus Christ as your Saviour and Lord?  Would you like to and become a true Christian?  If so, you can use the following prayer of commitment:

Heavenly Father, I thank you that you love me unconditionally and gave your son Jesus to die for me.

Lord Jesus Christ, I am sorry for the wrong things which I have thought, said and done, not least in keeping you out of your proper place in the centre of my life.

(Take a few moments asking God to bring to mind any specific things which need forgiving. Tell him how you feel and name anything that is on your conscience at this time).

Please forgive me, as I have decided to turn away from everything wrong in my life and turn to you, trusting in you for my future.

Thank you that you died on the cross and rose again to defeat sin and death, and to restore my relationship with my heavenly Father.

I trust your promise to forgive me and make me free and whole.

I give my life to you and I accept your free gift of eternal life.

Please fill me with your Holy Spirit and lead me from now on.
